The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program was created by the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997 (Public Law 105-20). The Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) are accepting applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grants.

In November and December 2025, four CPWI Coalitions and two DFC Coalitions in King County partnered with Seattle Public Schools, Highline School District, Seattle Parks and Recreation, UW Social Development Research Group and Seattle Children’s Research Institute to pilot an adaptation of Guiding Good Choices aimed at trying to increase family participation in this evidence based prevention program.

While HCA’s CPWI program focuses primarily on promoting prevention messages to children and youth, this campaign is intended for those 21 and over.
