Health Care Authority
As part of the Health Care Authority, the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) is the state agency that coordinates efforts to help individuals and communities with problems related to the abuse of drugs and alcohol. DBHR provides funding to tribes, local agencies, and organizations to provide prevention, treatment, and other support services for individuals with problems related to problem gambling, alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, opioids and other drugs.
Department of Health
The Department of Health (DOH) works with federal, state and local partners to help people in Washington stay healthier and safer. DOH programs and services help prevent illness and injury, promote healthy places to live and work, provide education to help people make good health decisions and ensure our state is prepared for emergencies.
Effective July 1, 2018, mental health, substance use disorder and problem gambling treatment programs licensing and certification are transferring from DBHR to DOH.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
The Student Assistance Prevention-Intervention Services Program (SAPISP) is a comprehensive, integrated model of services that fosters safe school environments, promotes healthy childhood development and prevents alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse. SAPISP supports the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction's mission to ensure the success of all learners through safe, civil, health, and engaging learning environments.

The Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington (PSCBW) is to conduct certification of prevention professionals, to uphold ethical standards, and to promote professional development and growth.
