This presentation will highlight recent work from WSIPP’s ongoing long-term evaluation of public health and safety consequences of Initiative 502. In our most recent study, we find that residential access to operational retailers relates to higher rates of cannabis-related health care encounters and the co-occurrence of disordered cannabis use and mental health disorders. In a second study, we find that high school proximity to operational retailers relates to adverse academic outcomes.
