DOH's adolescent and young adult health mini needs assessment
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) launched an adolescent and young adult needs assessment to learn about the state of adolescent health from young people and their health care providers. Feedback and insights will guide adolescent health programs at DOH, inform public health policy, and ensure health care meets the needs of Washington’s young people.
DOH wants to hear directly from medical and behavioral health care providers working in Washington and serving teens and young adults. The topics we want to know more about include adolescent well-visits and behavioral health care, youth-friendly care, confidential services, and billing and reimbursement for adolescent health care.
There are three ways youth-serving providers can share with us:
- Take an anonymous online survey. The survey includes mostly open-ended questions and should take participants about 20 minutes to complete.
- Participate in a virtual listing session on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 9 a.m. or noon. DOH staff will share feedback from youth engagement activities, then listen to providers’ thoughts on challenges in adolescent health, and ideas for solutions. Register to attend a listening session.
- Participate in a key informant interview with DOH staff to share your thoughts, ideas, and recommendations on the topics above. Email DOH's adolescent health team to schedule an appointment.
Not a medical or behavioral health care provider?
Consider sharing the assessment webpage, the one-pager about the survey, and DOH's social media posts on Facebook and Instagram to help get the word out about this survey to young people and the organizations that serve them!
