Guiding Good Choices Training of Workshop Leaders

Guiding Good Choices^©  (GGC) is an evidence-based program for parents/caregivers of youth ages 9-14. The primary goal is to create strong family bonds that motivate youth to follow family guidelines to increase the chance of better health and educational outcomes.

• July 14, 2026 - July 21, 2026    
• 9:00 am - 12:00 pm 

The workshop series for parents/caregivers is delivered over five weeks (six if delivered virtually). Each session is two hours and covers:

• Why parents may need new skills as their children enter adolescence
• The Social Development Strategy, and how it relates to parenting
• Setting and using family guidelines for behavior
• Managing conflict and expressing anger constructively
• Teaching children refusal skills
• Involving children in the family
