Seattle Children’s Hospital and Prevention WINS Coalition have developed a survey to assess medication storage methods and options in Washington State in hopes of promoting locked medication storage for families.

All high schools, colleges/universities, public libraries, and YMCAs in Washington State can obtain up to two (2) FREE kits of Narcan nasal spray naloxone through a program at Emergent BioSolutions, the parent company of ADAPTPharma. To take advantage of this free program, simply complete the appropriate form (attached) and return it directly to Ashley Flint at EBSI (info below). Ashley will process your program registration and ship out your kits.

DBHR has tons of Provider Toolkits available that can be sent out to all of our community providers!
What is a Provider Toolkit? It is a set of the Starts with One opioid prevention campaign materials that coalitions and partners across the state can distribute to dentists and medical providers in their communities. These items can be used by dental and medical providers to educate our key audiences about opioid misuse and abuse and safe storage and disposal practices.

The OpiEnd Youth Challenge invites students 9–14 years old to learn about opioids and the dangers they can cause and then enter the online contest with a poster to bring awareness to other students about this epidemic.
In addition to national winners, select states will be hosting additional statewide contests. Students with entries in these states will be eligible for additional prizing.

How to Localize Your Campaign:
The Starts with One campaign is designed to inform and educate young adults, their parents, and older adults about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and the importance of safe storage, use, and disposal.
As part of this statewide effort, the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) provides campaign resources to coalitions and partners across the state. The hard work done at the community level by partners like you is a vital part of making a difference in our state.
