Webinar: Health communication resources to support your tobacco control and prevention goals

CADCA’s Geographic Health Equity Alliance (GHEA) is partnering with the CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) to present “Resources for Health Communications to Support Your Tobacco Control and Prevention Goals” on May 26th, 2021 from 1-2:30 PM EST. This webinar will discuss the role of health communications in supporting tobacco prevention and control goals and will familiarize attendees with CDC’s Media Campaign Resource Center (MCRC). The webinar will guide participants on selecting evidence-based, effective tobacco counter-marketing ads and will include examples of how state and local groups have built health communications efforts using materials in the MCRC. The webinar will allow the opportunity to speak with the MCRC administrators.

1. Understand the role of health communications in supporting tobacco prevention and control goals (including earned and paid media, and communications efforts)
2. Learn how to access the Media Campaign Resource Center (MCRC) collection, navigate the collection and place orders
3. Receive guidance on selecting evidence-based, effective tobacco counter-marketing ads
4. Hear examples of how other state and local groups have built health communications efforts using materials in the MCRC
5. Identify other CDC/OSH and partner resources that can support health communications efforts
