HCA is launching Year 5 of WA Tribal Opioid Solutions Campaign to support education efforts around opioid misuse prevention and treatment, and the Department of Health (DOH) recently launched a Tribal Suicide Prevention Campaign to address mental health and suicide prevention in Indian Country.

WA Tribal Opioid Solutions Campaign

HCA is launching Year 4 of WA Tribal Opioid Solutions a media campaign to support education efforts around opioid misuse prevention and treatment. Campaign materials are informed by collaboration with tribal prevention and treatment partners across the state.

All materials in the campaign toolkit are free to download and use and include videos, social media graphics and print materials. Please share this resource with your networks!

National American Indian & Alaska Native PTTC Network recruiting mentors and mentees for Leadership Academy

Interested mentors and mentees are encouraged to submit applications from Native behavioral health professionals for the 2020-2021 National American Indian and Alaska Native Leadership Academy Cohort. 

Applications are due May 31. Applications can either be completed online or downloaded and submitted to AIANLeadership-Acad@uiowa.edu.

Health promotion technical assistance and learning collaborative opportunity

The National American Indian and Alaska Native Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) is pleased to announce a collaborative technical assistance project focused on helping communities create their own health promotion interventions for their communities. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) released a new video series, Transforming Tribal Communities: Indigenous Perspectives on Suicide Prevention. This series includes six- to eight-minute webinar clips with expert advice on addressing the root causes of suicide and mental health issues in American Indian and Alaska Native communities by drawing on community strengths.

In the past ten years, many studies have shown its effectiveness in reducing suicide deaths across diverse health systems.
