Opportunity to participate in WSPAC's Fatherhood Engagement program!

The Washington State Parent Ally Committee (WSPAC) is a group of parents who have experienced the child welfare system and work to improve outcomes for families. They aim to keep families together, support safe reunification, and elevate the voices of parents who have been marginalized by the system. Their work focuses on policy, practice, and partnerships to make lasting changes.

WSPAC is currently need voting members from the following counties: Adams, Aston, Chelan, Clark, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pacific, San Juan, Skagit, Skamania, Stevens, Wahkiakum, Walla Walla, and Yakima. Each county has one voting member to address specific local issues, though all are welcome to contribute. They particularly encourage dads to join, as their Fatherhood Engagement program is expanding, and welcome all family types at any stage of their journey. To join, individuals must have resolved their legal case (through reunification, adoption, or family placement) and be emotionally ready to discuss these sensitive topics without significant harm, as WSPAC cannot provide immediate mental health support.

Interested parents are welcome to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, July 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Please email WSPAC for more information or if you are interested in attending the meeting.
