DOJ Task Force To Hold Second Hearing on Children Exposed to Violence

 

The Attorney General’s National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence, a key component of the Department’s Defending Childhood Initiative, will hold its second of four public hearings in Albuquerque, NM, on January 31, 2012. The task force is examining the epidemic of children’s exposure to violence as witnesses or victims and identifying policies and promising practices to address it.

The Albuquerque hearing will highlight the issue of children’s exposure to violence in rural and tribal communities. Witnesses will discuss the specific challenges that rural and tribal communities face and effective responses tailored to meet their needs.
