NW HIDTA funding opportunity
Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area has published a request for prevention proposals, due December 11, 2026.
The purpose of Northwest HIDTA prevention funding is to enhance substance use prevention efforts in Northwest HIDTA counties, with the goals of:
- Preventing and delaying substance use
- Reducing risk factors and increase protective factors
- Increasing cross-sector collaboration.
Funding is intended to address gaps in substance use prevention in the state of Washington that cannot be funded through other existing resources. It is not designed to serve as an organization’s sole source of funding; rather, it exists to support efforts. As this is a competitive application process, no organization is guaranteed funding.
Organizations are eligible to apply if they:
- Work to prevent illicit drug use (including enhancing protective factors and reducing risk factors).
- Operate in a Northwest HIDTA county (Benton, Clark, Cowlitz, Grant, Franklin, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Spokane, Thurston, Whatcom, and Yakima).
Proposals will be due on December 11, 2026. Funding will begin on July 1, 2027 and end on June 30, 2029. Organizations can apply for a maximum of $50,000.00 per year.
