The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is excited to announce the Community and Priority Populations Grant. This funding opportunity is an expansion of our Youth Cannabis and Commercial Tobacco Prevention Program (YCCTPP). Awards will range from $50,000 - $611,325 annually.
YCCTPP addresses youth cannabis and commercial tobacco prevention through policy, systems, and environmental change (PSE) efforts. We integrate geographical strategies, culturally specific approaches, and statewide infrastructure to achieve sustainable impact.
What types of activities will be funded?
You can submit proposals that address policies, systems and environmental change that impact youth cannabis and commercial tobacco use prevention and root causes of youth cannabis and commercial tobacco use.
- Community Track partners focus on geographic regions.
- Priority Population Track partners bring culturally specific expertise, trusted relationships, and lived experience that is essential for effectively engaging communities most impacted by commercial tobacco and cannabis use.
Who can apply for funding?
All applicants must be in Washington. Eligible applicants are:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- community-based organizations
- federally recognized Tribes and Tribal organizations
- city governments
- local health jurisdictions
- government entities
- schools or school districts
- educational organizations or institutions
- coalitions or collaboratives
Applications from organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) status can apply with if they have a fiscal sponsor and a completed sponsorship agreement.

- Anticipated Application Release: September 17. 2026
- Optional Q&A Sessions:
- Applications Due: 11:59 p.m. PST, December. 12, 2026
- Evaluation and Scoring Period: December 14, 2026 - January 28, 2027
- Anticipated Notice of Award: 11:59 p.m. PST, January 28, 2027
- Anticipated Funding Period: July 1, 2027-June 30, 2032
