Building Strong Parent-Teen Relationships
Join Greg Fosco, PhD, for an engaging session on parenting and strategies for improving the health and wellbeing of adolescents. He will share findings from a 20-year longitudinal study of PROSPER, that Dr. Fosco has been involved with to help better understand the influence of youth and family-based prevention programs across generations. He will explain how positive changes in adolescence can improve their lives in adulthood and their parenting of the next generation. Second, he will discuss how positive psychology affects adolescent development, approach to risky behaviors, and family prevention practices. Finally, participants will gain a deeper understanding of micro interventions and how they can be infused into everyday life and the prevention practices of professionals working with adolescents and families.
- Learn about the research evaluating the long-term, intergenerational impacts of the evidence-based PROSPER interventions aimed at middle school students and their families.
- Improve knowledge about micro interventions and best practices that you can infuse into everyday life to build strong relationships with teens to improve their health and wellbeing.
