Bridging public health, healthcare, and community response.
The Washington Poison Center is seeking speakers proposals to lead sessions during the 7th annual Overdose Awareness Series, taking place every Tuesday in August: August 4, 11, 18, 25.
Session formats include presentations, workshops, panel discussions, or any other format you would like to propose. The following are guiding themes to consider for sessions. However, we welcome proposals for any valuable topics related to unintentional and intentional overdose.
Potential themes:
- Evidence-based strategies for reducing harm from substance use and overdose
- Real life examples of what worked and what didn't work for overdose prevention
- Emerging substances of concern
- Culturally appropriate programming and services
- Effective substance use-related policies
Session content should be accessible by a public health audience.
If you are interested in leading a session, please fill out this form. Proposals must be submitted by Monday, May 18. A nominal honorarium will be provided for speakers.
