The Science of Relationships is an engaging gathering of professionals focused on strengthening protective factors for youth through connection and health-promoting relationships.

Learning Objectives:
- DESCRIBE a way of being comprised of four intentional strategies that trusted adults can engage in with youth.
- EXAMINE the science of connection and relationships as an important part of prevention strategies.
- DEMONSTRATE the ability to form and nurture health-promoting relationships.
- CONNECT in meaningful ways with other prevention professionals.
- CREATE individual and organizational action items that incorporate key principles of health-promoting relationships.
- UNDERSTAND local, state, and regional drug threats and priorities.
Participants will explore the science of connection as a key prevention strategy, learn four intentional ways trusted adults can engage with youth, and develop practical skills to build and nurture supportive relationships that help prevent mental and behavioral health risks while promoting youth flourishing.
The event will also provide insights into local, state, and regional drug threats and priorities, while creating opportunities for prevention professionals to connect, share ideas, and develop individual and organizational action steps to strengthen relationship-centered prevention efforts.
This event is co-hosted by the Pacific Southwest Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) and the San Diego–Imperial Valley High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) in partnership with A Division for Advancing Prevention & Treatment (ADAPT), the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative, and the Center for Behavioral Health Integration.
