Evidence-Informed Strategies
Karen Voetsch, Branch Chief of the Drug-Free Communities Branch at the CDC, will demonstrate how coalitions can put new CDC tools and resources into action by pairing ENGAGE: Evidence-Based Strategies to Prevent Youth Substance Use and the FREE MIND campaign. Participants will learn how to tailor these resources to their coalition and community and how FREE MIND resources address the connection between youth substance use and mental health.
The session will also include an overview of the Evidence-Informed Strategies competency from Jessica Price of Washington University in St. Louis and practical implementation guidance from CADCA Trainer Kristina Clark.
Participants will leave with tools to immediately apply evidence-informed strategies and ready-to-use materials that support conversations between youth and their parents or caregivers.
