Youth voice needed: rural youth perspective questionnaire
The Rural Network's Prevention Conference Planning Committee is inviting rural prevention youth groups to participate in a Rural Youth Perspective Questionnaire.
We want to hear directly from youth about what they think adults should be learning and discussing at the upcoming Rural Prevention Conference. Their voices matter — and we want the conference to reflect their real experiences, needs, and ideas.
What We’re Asking
We are hoping Prevention Group Leaders will host a Youth Questionnaire Feedback Session with their youth group within the next three weeks.
During the session, we suggest:
- Reading the questionnaire introduction aloud to the group
- Walking through the questions together
- Allowing youth to ask questions and discuss their thoughts
- Either:
- Submitting one collective response on behalf of the group, or
- Having each youth complete the questionnaire individually (electronically)
We encourage doing this as a guided feedback session, so youth feel supported, heard, and able to expand on their ideas.
Deadline
To help us move forward with conference planning, we are asking that questionnaires be completed and submitted by:
Thursday, March 19
We know this is a short turnaround, and we truly appreciate you making space for youth voice in your schedule.
Youth Group Incentive 🎉
As a thank-you, each prevention youth group that completes a session will receive a choice of one of the following:
- Board & Puzzle Bundle
- Fidget Toy Bundle
- Art Project Bundle
We’ll work with you and your youth to customize the bundle to best fit your group’s interests.
Contact
Once your group completes the questionnaire(s), please contact Abigail.wells@esd112.org, and we’ll coordinate your bundle selection.
Please Share
If you know of other rural youth prevention groups that may be interested, please share this opportunity. We are hoping to gather perspectives from youth across rural communities statewide.
