DOH invites you to join the Youth Friendly Care Network
Youth-serving medical and behavioral health providers and professionals are invited to join DOH’s Youth Friendly Care Network.
The Network is a statewide initiative for providers and professionals who want to deepen their understanding of youth-friendly care principles and establish or enhance youth-friendly care in their practice. It brings together people working in clinics, schools, and youth-serving organizations to promote care that is welcoming, respectful, and responsive to youth ages 10–24. The Network is designed to enhance knowledge of and skills in youth-centered practices, strengthen connections to other youth-serving organizations and clinics, and center young people’s voices in health care. Participants get tools, training, and a supportive community to help adopt youth-friendly care rooted in trust, accessibility, and respect.
The goals of the Network are to:
- Promote youth-friendly principles and real-world practices among medical and behavioral health providers
- Build a connected network of youth-friendly providers and organizations across Washington
- Support the delivery of high-quality, age-appropriate medical and behavioral health care for young people
Participants have access to:
- Consultation and technical assistance on youth-friendly care principles and practices on topics like confidentiality, youth and caregiver engagement, and satisfaction measures
- A curated library of tools, resources, guidance, and materials
- A Community of Practice focused on promoting youth-defined practices, space to share stories and strategies, and a chance to talk with young people
- Print materials, including promotional items for Teen Health Hub WA
- Visibility as a participating provider on Teen Health Hub WA so young people can find youth-friendly care in their area
