The National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) training gives you the tools you need to effectively identify and address substance use challenges in adults.

In this training, you’ll learn to:

  • Master the SBIRT approach. Understand how early intervention can prevent substance use from becoming a lifelong challenge — and why timing matters.
  • Spot the signs. Learn to use proven screening tools that help you identify at-risk patients before their substance use escalates.
  • Have conversations that count. Practice brief intervention techniques that motivate real change without judgment or confrontation.
  • Connect people to help. Know exactly where to refer people for treatment and how to make those connections stick.

SBIRT is an evidence-based, comprehensive, early intervention program ideal for primary care settings, emergency departments or mental health clinics. Whether you’re an administrator or clinician new to SBIRT or simply looking for a refresher, our three-hour virtual training will equip you with knowledge and tools to enhance your practice. Registration is only $65 per person. Join our next session, Sept. 17, 2-5 p.m. ET, to invest in your practice and improve patient outcomes with SBIRT!
