Current Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) funding opportunities and grants

The Washington State Health Care Authority's (HCA) Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) is proud to release a funding opportunity announcement (FOA)! The purpose of this FOA is to seek applications from organizations interested in implementing programming and services that focus on substance use disorder prevention services related to opioids and cannabis, mental health promotion, suicide prevention, and disordered eating prevention in Washington state. Applications are due Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Application Due:
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery has identified funding to provide financial support for prevention partners to attend various conferences. These conferences provide training on prevention theory, strategic planning, coalition development, cultural competency, reducing health disparities, community organizing, and/or the Strategic Prevention Framework. These conferences are open to all interested individuals. Only registration costs can be covered by these scholarships.

Application Due:
The purpose of this program is to prevent and reduce alcohol use among youth and young adults, ages 12 to 20, in communities throughout the United States. Award recipients will be expected to implement activities that support capacity building such as implementing evidence-based community approaches, enhancing collaboration, cooperation and coordination among communities, federal, state, and local and tribal governments, and convening town halls. With this program, SAMHSA aims to address the problem of underage drinking across the United States.
Application Due:
The Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnership for Success for Communities and Tribes (SPF-PFS-Communities/Tribes) program is intended to build prevention capacity throughout communities and tribes and to strengthen the capacity of local community prevention providers. Eligibility is limited to domestic public or private non-profit entities, including community and faith-based organizations, federally recognized tribes, tribal organizations, local governments, and institutions of higher education.
Application Due:
Organizations working to prevent illicit drug use within Northwest HIDTA counties* are eligible to apply for funding. The two-year funding period will begin on July 1, 2025 and end on June 30, 2027. Organizations can apply for a maximum of $50,000.00 per year ($100,000.00 total).

*Northwest HIDTA counties include Benton, Clark, Cowlitz, Grant, Franklin, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Spokane, Thurston, Whatcom, and Yakima.
