State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) listening sessions

The SHIP is a long-term, system-wide plan to focus efforts on critical health issues facing Washingtonians. The SHIP describes how the Washington Department of Health (DOH) and the community it serves will work together to improve the health of all Washingtonians and is used to set statewide public health priorities.

Who is encouraged to participate in the SHIP listening sessions?

  • State, tribal, and local governmental public health representatives
  • Community partners: community-based organizations, community leaders and members, associations, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, hospital and provider groups, and other cross-sector partners

Why join?

  • You will learn about statewide data findings within the state health assessment (SHA).
  • You will provide critical input towards determining statewide- public health priorities to be addressed within the SHIP.
  • You will work to identify priority alignment between community, tribal partners, and public health agencies/organizations.
  • You will participate in efforts to improve population health through a decolonizing and antiracism approach in partnership with UW ARCH and UW Seven Directions.

This listening session is hybrid, with an in-person option in Tacoma, WA. Attendance is limited. If you're unable to attend but would like to provide feedback, please complete the SHIP public feedback survey.
