Washington is the focus of a new study on young adults and alcohol - we need your help to recruit volunteers!
During the pandemic, many states relaxed alcohol sales policies, including allowing more home delivery of alcohol. This might open the door to potentially inadequate ID checking. Further, digital alcohol marketing that uses algorithms to target consumer behaviors (like using a smartphone app to order alcohol for home delivery) might mean increased exposure to alcohol ads that encourage consumption
Washington is one of six states that are the focus of a new research study about how home delivery and digital advertising may affect alcohol use risks among young adults - the Alcohol Delivery + Digital Advertising (AD+DA) study. The research team, led by City University of New York (CUNY) and other research partners, is working with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB), to get information from young adult volunteers in our state.
LCB needs your help to recruit young adults from our state to participate in the study. The researchers are seeking young adults, ages 21-26, who have access to a smartphone and who do not have current problems with alcohol use. Participants will receive up to $110 in gift cards for completing two short surveys and documenting ID checks that occur when they receive a legal home delivery of alcohol (they will be asked to purchase this on their own). Please share this opportunity directly with young adults who would be good candidates.
