Healthy Youth Survey planning activities for tribal partners

Tribal leaders and their representatives are invited to participate in a series of four listening sessions to provide guidance and proposals for the 2025 Washington State Healthy Youth Survey (HYS). The HYS survey focuses on health risk and protective factors and offers rich information about how youth are doing in their own voices.

Historically, the HYS planning committee has hosted general meetings about the survey and welcomed proposals for revisions in writing. For HYS 2025, the planning committee is instituting a new process to support tribal participation in the revision cycle and offer tribal-specific meetings where proposals can be offered in writing or verbally.

Upcoming listening sessions:

  • Listening session 1: Substance use
    Thursday, February 15, 3-5 p.m.
  • Listening session 2: Mental health, bullying, disability, and demographics
    Thursday, February 22, 3-5 p.m.
  • Listening session 3: Safety and violence, sexual behavior, school experience, and physical health

  • Listening session 4: Peer, community, school, and family risk and protective factors
