MENTOR Washington hosts Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center in a three-part series on sexual violence, experiences of youth survivors, and best practices for caring adults supporting these survivors.
PART ONE: "Sexual Violence 101,' provides foundational introduction to the behaviors considered to fall under the umbrella term “sexual violence,” including sexual assault, sexual abuse, and rape"
PART TWO: "Sexual Trauma and Behavior in Youth Survivors,' introduces the basic human somatic response to sexual trauma as well as recognizing and contextualizing common behavioral expressions of trauma experiences"
PART THREE: "Supporting Survivors,' offers practical explanations of the needs presented following trauma, trauma-informed and -aware response, and specific skills caring adults can use to support youth survivors

About the Presenter
Ella is a career-long advocate and the Education Program Manager at Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center, serving Kitsap and Pierce Counties, since October 2023. For over 18 years, Ella has served survivors of interpersonal violence in five states and the District of Columbia, through trauma-informed crisis intervention principles. In 2014, Ella completed her Juris Doctorate at the University of Oregon with focuses on youth and family law and nonprofit governance. Since then, she has trained and educated law enforcement, foster care, education, and medical professionals in compassionate care of sexual assault survivors; and she looks forward to building safer communities with her Western Washington neighbors.
