This event is brought to you by SAMHSA’s HHS Region 9 & 10 SPTAC Team and the Washington State Health Care Authority, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR), Substance Use Disorder Prevention Section.

The goal of this three-day virtual CPWI NCBT ToT is to train 6-10 individuals in Washington State on the fundamentals of the NCBT training so that this can be replicated both community-and state-wide. This intensive CPWI NCBT ToT will prepare prevention trainers to deliver the 20-hour NCBT course to community prevention providers and members. This CPWI NCBT ToT prepares professionals to deliver the NCBT independently and with a co-trainer. Participation involves interactive learning and discussion of the curriculum, including a review of all training content, group-learning activities, and opportunities to practice training portions of the curriculum among your peers.

Audience: The CPWI NCBT ToT will be offered to those who have previously taken the New Coordinator Basic Training (NCBT) in the last 5 years. If you have previously taken NCBT but it has been longer than 5 years, we ask that you speak with your Prevention System Manager if this is something that you are interested in participating in.

Expectations: By participating in the CPWI NCBT ToT, you will be expected to co-train the NCBT at least one time within the next 2-3 years as DBHR/the Prevention Section schedules these.

Registration: If you are interested in participating in the CPWI NCBT ToT, please email Alicia Hughes at ahughes@casat.org to get on the registration list. Registration and additional details will be disseminated in early 2026.
