Blueprint for a national prevention infrastructure for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders

-

Join the National Academies on Wednesday, April 9, for a public release webinar in support of its latest report, which identifies the actions needed to prevent mental, emotional, and behavioral (MEB) disorders, including mental illness and substance use disorders.

Existing infrastructure in the U.S. focuses more on MEB crisis response and treatment rather than prevention via evidence-based policy approaches and programs. To address this, the National Academies convened a committee of experts to develop a blueprint for change. Conclusions and recommendations in the resulting report focus on closing research gaps, supporting an MEB disorder prevention workforce, ensuring adequate data to support prevention and reporting, establishing clear governance, securing sustainable funding, and enacting evidence-based policies.

During the public release webinar, members of the report committee will speak and answer questions from the audience.
