SUD family navigator training

-

Washington State Community Connections (WSCC) worked with the Health Care Authority/Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, identified family members, and family led organizations to develop a curriculum designed to educate families about Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and related treatment options across Washington State.

This will include the most up-to-date information around Substance Use Disorder (SUD), addiction and its effects on the adolescent brain, skills for families navigating their relationship with someone with SUD, and systems navigation. This training will be a 16-hour training for parents, family members, and caregivers who are interested in learning how to support their loved ones with SUD.This virtual training will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, August 5-8.

This presentation is grounded in research and information supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) and their training and technical assistance partners. A toolkit, including information and resources regarding SUD supports and services specific to Washington State, will be provided as a reference guide for participants.
