Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- Share the big idea of community-driven prevention (as opposed to coordinator-driven prevention)
- Identify some leading from behind' techniques that will help build an inclusive and community-driven coalition
- Use leading from behind' techniques to Activate their Core Group and Data Workgroup
- List key readiness elements for community coalition work
- Assess gaps in readiness for their coalition
- Learn a member assessment and recruitment process
- Develop a plan to engage coalition members in developing talking points for recruitment
- Develop a plan for working with community members to engage 3 priority coalition members
- The Million Cups of Coffee: Understand a variety of actions to recruit and engage coalition members
- Make a plan to recruit or re-engage potential coalition members using a variety of recruitment actions reviewed today
- Identify options for building a culture of participation in your coalition/techniques to maintain coalition member engagement
- Craft an objective-focused agenda
- Discuss member engagement scenarios and propose possible solutions
