Thank you to those who joined us at the 2024 Washington State Prevention Summit and annual provider meeting in Seattle, WA. It was a great success! Some highlights include:
- A total of 564 people from across Washington and other states attended, including 428 adults, 121 youth, and 15 sponsors and exhibitors.
- 13 prevention professionals and groups were honored at the 2024 Prevention Awards of Excellence. Even Seattle Seahawks mascot, Blitz, made an appearance to help congratulate and hand out awards.
- The director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Captain Christopher Jones, Pharm. D., D.Ph., M.P.H, joined day one to talk about the state of prevention at the national level and how current CSAP initiatives can support states and communities in their efforts.
- Providers in attendance at the annual provider meeting were able to dive into evaluation as part of their strategic planning process and have a conversation with the State Prevention Enhancement Policy Consortium on updated insights from the Healthy Youth Survey and Young Adult Healthy Youth Survey.
