In November and December 2025, four CPWI Coalitions and two DFC Coalitions in King County partnered with Seattle Public Schools, Highline School District, Seattle Parks and Recreation, UW Social Development Research Group and Seattle Children’s Research Institute to pilot an adaptation of Guiding Good Choices aimed at trying to increase family participation in this evidence based prevention program.

The Washington State Department of Health is excited to announce the launch of a new adult education campaign, Cannabis Safely. While HCA’s CPWI program focuses primarily on promoting prevention messages to children and youth, this campaign is intended for those 21 and over. The purpose is to educate adults of legal age to consume cannabis about the risks, rules, and responsibilities of using cannabis in Washington state.

At the September Wahkiakum Community Network meeting, the coalition agreed to change their coalition logo to a student created logo following a contest sponsored by the coalition. Beth Brophy created the winning design while participating in a high school art class. The art class was taught by Mrs. Clark, who also teaches biology, honors geometry, and kindergarten music, and serves as the homeschool liaison.
