Community Coalition Coordinator - Oak Harbor

This is a 190 day position. Duties listed are intended to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position. Employee(s) may not perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties not listed, but within the general scope of the position.

  • Provide staff support to the coalition; coordinate monthly Coalition meetings and workgroup committee meetings to ensure implementation of the Strategic Plan and Action Plan.
  • Guide the coalition to develop an action plan based on their needs assessment and strategic planning.
  • Provide leadership in planning and coordinating community and school-based education and awareness events, media campaigns, and community/parent outreach. Make presentations about the mission and the work of the Coalition to service clubs and other civic and community groups.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Coalition and the Health Care Authority (HCA)/Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR). Participate in Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) meetings, monthly HCA/DBHR check-in meetings, and all required training.
  • Maintain and manage all record keeping and business function for state and local accountability. Work with the coalition to develop and monitor outcomes for projects.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports and projects.
  • Assess and analyze substance abuse prevention data and needs within the community. Keep informed of current literature addressing substance abuse prevention best practices.
