Description:
This training prepares participants to lead Guiding Good Choices workshops.

Participants will learn how the program supports families by providing information and teaching skills that help caregivers promote family bonding. Workshop leader training covers:

Keys to successful delivery, Facilitation skills, The Social Development Strategy, Risk and protective factor-focused prevention, How to handle difficult questions, Empowering parents and caregivers to make their own decisions

The live virtual training is delivered over one week. Throughout the sessions participants will experience a variety of approaches to learning including direct instruction, role-playing, and reflective dialogue.

Cost
$850/person which includes one copy of the Workshop Leader Guide.

Each participant is required to have a license prior to the first day of training. Licenses must be purchased separately through UW CoMotion at https://els2.comotion.uw.edu/product/guiding-good-choices-ggc.

Training Details
19 hours over one week

Monday–Thursday
Two 2-hour modules each day
2/23 - 2/26
9am - 11 am AND Noon - 2PM

Friday:
One 3-hour module
9am - Noon

Participant Commitments
The training is highly interactive. Participants are expected to:

Join via a computer or laptop (not a mobile device or tablet) with a camera and microphone
Actively participate and be engaged a minimum of 90% each session
Complete assigned readings and prepare to deliver a portion of the curriculum
Have a basic understanding of Zoom functions
Notify training leaders immediately if scheduling conflicts arise

Certificates
Participants who complete the entire course will receive a certificate of attendance for 19 hours. Participants will need to confirm with their certification board to determine if GGC training hours are accepted towards their specific certification requirements.
