Prevention providers are often exposed to high levels of stress—not only through their prevention program participants’ experiences, but through the demands of their roles and the influence of their own experiences. This training equips prevention professionals with essential knowledge about how toxic stress and developmental adversity affect the brain, behavior, and long-term well-being. This session blends science with everyday application, offering tools to help participants sustain their work and support lasting change for the individuals and communities they serve.

Participants will explore:

  • The neuroscience of toxic stress
  • How chronic stress and developmental trauma impact prevention professional resilience and burnout
  • Practical strategies to strengthen self-regulation and promote healing—in both prevention program participants and yourself, as a prevention professional
