Webinar: Enhancing tobacco cessation and prevention using a trauma-informed approach

Early youth initiation and adult tobacco use are significantly associated with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and in fact, exposure to trauma in childhood and early adulthood can double an individual’s risk of lifetime smoking. In Enhancing Tobacco Cessation Using a Trauma-informed Approach, National Council of Behavioral Health subject matter expert Taslim van Hattum, LCSW, MPH, will provide evidence-based guidance you can use to enhance your tobacco prevention and cessation approaches and create successful trauma-informed public policies.

This new virtual workshop will equip you with:

  • An understanding of trauma-informed tobacco cessation and promotion services.
  • Evidence-based practices and resources to support your statewide tobacco programs.
  • Trauma-informed principles to guide cessation and health promotion policies.
