Spotlight on “Unleashing the Power of Prevention"

Spotlight on “Unleashing the Power of Prevention"

Please join us at the UW School of Social Work Impact Science Series: "Spotlight on “Unleashing the Power of Prevention.”  Guest speakers are David Hawkins, Vaughnetta Barton, and Liz Wilhelm.

The School of Social Work’s pursuit of solution-focused Impact Science includes opportunities to bring members of our science and practice/policy communities together. By sharing perspectives regarding issues salient to the profession, we foster spaces for cross-fertilization. We open with a focus on some of the national Social Work Grand Challenges Initiative topics.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage, or CPR or calling 911. Sometimes, first aid is YOU.

A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help.

Anyone 18 or older can take Youth Mental Health First Aid, but it is recommended for those who regularly have contact with young people ages 12–18; teachers, coaches, social workers, faith leaders, and other caring citizens.
