Exploring the Legal Landscape of Delta-8 THC and Similar Cannabis Products

Often promoted as less-potent alternatives to cannabis, Delta-8 THC products have seen a rapid growth in the U.S. marketplace and are showing up in commercial tobacco retail stores across the nation in the form of e-cigarettes, combustible products, beverages, and snacks. The manufacturing of Delta-8 THC and similar hemp-derived cannabis products is unregulated and can involve the use of harmful chemicals in uncontrolled settings. In addition, these products can have psychoactive and intoxicating effects and can pose risks to young people, pets, and others.

Offered by the Mitchell Hamline School of Law's Public Health Law Center, this webinar will discuss the mechanics and chemistry behind Delta- 8 THC and similar novel cannabinoids, the legal landscape, and efforts to regulate these products to protect vulnerable communities and public health.
