Do you need a volunteer? If yes, AHEC Scholars are eager to support your community!

Washington State’s Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) have health professional students eager to perform volunteer prevention work at your CPWI site! AHEC Scholars is a nationwide, interprofessional program for currently enrolled health professional students.  Scholars in Washington are in MD, DDS/DMD, BSN, FNP, SUDP, OT, PT, NEP, PharmD, and many other programs.

These students applied for admission to the two-year elective program in addition to their primary programs, and are passionate about serving rural and underserved populations. There are AHEC Scholars cohorts in Bellingham, Seattle, and Spokane. AHEC Scholars must complete 40 hours of community, experiential, or clinical hours and they want to help your CPWI site! If there is prevention work that you would like assistance with, please connect Stacey Morrison, WWAMI AHEC Associate Director (slmorr01@uw.edu) for more information.

The Washington Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) look forward to collaborating with you in the future.
