Celebrate National Prevention Week by sharing your story!

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Prevention Week is observed each May to promote prevention and spread awareness of its important role in keeping people and communities healthy and safe.

For this year's National Prevention Week held on May 12-18, SAMHSA is asking people to share their stories about mental health and substance misuse prevention experiences on social media with the hashtag #MyPreventionStory. All types of stories are welcome in any format, including videos, photographs, artwork, poems, and written stories. You can even share what you're doing to prevent substance use and/or promote mental health in your community! Visit the #MyPreventionStory page for more information and ideas on how you can participate!

There are lots of other opportunities to get involved in National Prevention Week. Consider hosting an event, engaging your coalition members, tribal elders and members, coworkers, or youth with a fun prevention activity, or participating in one (or several) of SAMHSA's National Prevention Week events
