2022 Art & Science of Community Organizing Training (ASCOT) - Day 1/6

ASCOT is 6-day training currently delivered remotely that is facilitated by a team of regional leaders who hold decades of experience in community engagement, policy development, prevention, leadership development and community change. ASCOT is an approved course by the Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington which allows participants who fully complete the course to earn 32 prevention credit hours.

The ASCOT curriculum showcases: 4 cross-cutting themes, 6 tool boxes, a number of case studies, and violence and substance use disorder prevention strategies and best practices that are culturally responsive and equity-centered.

The first 2022 ASCOT training series is spread out across six (6) weeks. From 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, daily via Zoom platform.

  • WEEK #1: Day One, Monday, 5/2/22; Day Two, Tuesday, 5/3/22
  • WEEK #2: Day Three, Monday, 5/9/22; Day Four, Tuesday, 5/10/22
  •  WEEKS #3, #4 and #5 – applied learning time; no formal sessions
  • WEEK #6: Day Five, Monday, 6/6/22; Day Six, Tuesday, 6/7/22

Training Costs:  $850 is the cost for the training, materials and resources.  Once you have completed the online registration, you will receive payment information directly from WASAVP. Once WASAVP is in receipt of your payment, you will then receive written confirmation of your enrollment into the training series. The training is limited to the first 20 who complete registration and payment.
