2021 Local Civic Engagement Town Hall

Join the Washington Legislative Youth Advisory Council for our 2021 Local Civic Engagement Town Hall on Saturday, November 6th from 4-6 PM. This virtual event will bring together young people from across the state to engage with student advocates, legislators, and local change makers.

Speakers:

  • Lily Villa: student at Mabton High School in Eastern Washington; former WA LYAC member who organized a mental health awareness project in her high school.
  • Hikma Sherka: community advocate in King County; connected to many youth organizations and community change makers.
  • Milo Edwards: member of the Office of Homeless Youth's “Youth for Youth Board,”; expert on rural homelessness and equity issues.
  • McKenna Roberts: Eastern Washington Student Representative for the Washington State Board of Education.
  • Claire Wilson: Senator for WA's 30th Legislative District
