2020 Spring Youth Forum to be held virutally

SAVE THE DATE: 2020 Spring Youth Forum Virtual Event | May 20th from 12:00-3:00 PM.

Thank you for your patience and valuable feedback to assist us in making an informed decision on next steps regarding the 2020 Spring Youth Forum.

HCA has continued to monitor the evolving situation with COVID-19 and how it will impact this year’s conference. In an effort to ensure the health and safety of all attendees, the 2020 Spring Youth Forum will not be held in person this year. Instead, DBHR will be hosting a virtual conference for those who can attend on May 20th from 12:00-3:00 PM.

We are excited to host a virtual Spring Youth Forum to include an optional virtual poster session that will offer an opportunity to engage and recognize the great work youth teams have been doing to lead prevention projects in their communities! We will be recognizing and honoring all youth teams who applied for the Spring Youth Forum regardless of their ability to engage in the virtual event.

Additionally, we would like to acknowledge that the input Team Advisors and the prevention field has provided helped us better understand the opportunities and challenges, including the disparities when considering access to technology, your youth and your community may be facing during this pandemic. We realize not all youth teams will be able to engage in this year’s conference, therefore, we will not be holding a competition or awarding scholarships to select teams, instead we are planning to provide special recognition to every team who applied.

Agenda, registration information, and additional guidance on the opportunity for youth to engage in the virtual poster session as part of the conference will be released soon.

Thank you for all that you do to support youth in our state!

Thank you,

Spring Youth Forum Committee
