Webinars - WA State Tobacco Prevention and Control Strategic Planning - February 8 or 9, 2016

The Washington Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (TPCP) recently launched a planning process to develop a 5-year tobacco prevention and control state strategic plan. While the TPCP is facilitating the planning process, the resultant plan is intended to serve as a critical roadmap for reducing the number one preventable cause of disease and death in our state.

As a part of our process to develop the statewide strategic tobacco control plan, we will now host two informational webinars. The first will be held on February 8 at 10:00 AM and the second on February 9 at 2:00 PM. The content of both webinars will be the same. We are offering the same session twice in order to accommodate schedules and hopefully facilitate more participation throughout the state.

During these webinars the Rede Group will share a draft of the new Five Year Statewide Tobacco Control Strategic Plan and provide information about how to comment on the draft plan.

We encourage participation from anyone who has a role or stake in preventing tobacco use, disease, or death.  The statewide strategic plan will become the road map for navigating tobacco control efforts in Washington State and, therefore, it is essential that the plan is informed and reviewed by stakeholders and communities.

In November and December of 2015, many organizations and individuals participated in providing information and insight to inform the development of the draft that will be shared in February; this next phase of reviewing the plan is an important step in ensuring that goals, strategies and tactics reflect the will and wisdom of the entire tobacco control community in Washington.
