  5. Ways participants can help their community understand the issue

Officer Ryan Snow
University of Illinois Police Department

Officer Ryan Snow has been a police officer since 2010. He has been with the University of Illinois Police Department since 2012 and has worked hard to educate the community about DUI and drug related issues.

He is a certified Drug Recognition Expert, and has been entered as an Expert in DUI courtroom testimony. Prior to becoming a police officer, Ryan obtained a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. He utilizes his experience to help educate others on topics related to drugs, alcohol, diversity and inclusion, police-citizen relations and DUI. He is an instructor with the Police Training Institute in Champaign, IL where he helps facilitate the learning process for new police recruits from around the state. Through the University of Illinois Police Department, Ryan serves as a Field Training Officer for new recruits, a R.A.D. instructor, and an instructor for a class on how to defend against active threat or active shooter incidents titled, "Three Minutes to Live."
