Senior Program Administrator for Children and Youth and Substance Use Disorders

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Behavioral Health and Services Integration (BHSIA), is seeking experienced, motivated, and compassionate candidate to be the Senior Program Administrator for children and youth and substance use disorders (behavioral health).

Duties:
Overview
 

This position is responsible for overseeing the system wide development and/or implementation of divisional, departmental and legislative initiatives for the enhancement of behavioral health programs for children, youth, and families.

There is a strong emphasis on cross system collaboration within DSHS around multi-system children and youth with the most complex needs to support efficient and effective operations at all levels, particularly in regards to access, coordinated care planning, case management efficiencies, and tracking of outcomes.

The successful candidate will participate in cross-system assignments / workgroups / projects related to children's behavioral health in addition to supervising the children's behavioral health team.

 

 Qualifications:

Who We're Interested In

Successful candidates will have:

Master's or other advanced degree in social services or public administration and 3-5 years of experience working in a public behavioral health system with specific duties related to children's behavioral health services administration and/or managed behavioral healthcare.

Or

At least 10 years of experience working in a public behavioral health system with specific duties related to children's behavioral health services administration and/or managed behavioral healthcare.

Knowledge of Washington State's community behavioral health system, including outpatient and inpatient care, systems, and coordination of treatment (e.g.,  RSNs, Community Mental Health Providers, Substance Use Disorder Providers, corrections, DMHPs DOD),understanding of crisis and commitment services, community psychiatric hospitalization, and pertinent CFR, RCW and WACs related to behavioral health.

Desired education, experience, skills and abilities:

Administration of a statewide behavioral health program
Administration of Federal Grants
Mental Health Professional per Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
Certified Chemical Dependency Professional
Child Mental Health Specialist per WAC
