Psychologist and Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator - University of Puget Sound

Provide counseling service to college students: counseling (individual, group and couples), intake assessments, crisis intervention, referrals, treatment planning, and documentation. Present educational programs and trainings that contribute to student learning objectives of division of student affairs; provide consultation with campus community; advise student groups. Work collaboratively with medical providers in multi-disciplinary setting. Participate as a member of an APA doctoral internship training team by supervising trainees and participating in the selection process.

Provide leadership for university’s substance abuse prevention efforts: coordinate a comprehensive substance abuse prevention program, informed by professionally-accepted and empirically-supported best practices; present and evaluate prevention programs; conduct substance abuse assessments; provide workshops for at-risk students; collaborate with student conduct and other student affairs departments; and conduct campus climate research to support ongoing prevention and education efforts specific to the institution.
