August 31 -- International Overdose Awareness Day

From The Center for Opioid Safety Education, which is part of The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute at The University of Washington:

=======================================

International Overdose Awareness Day is coming up quickly - Wednesday August 31, 2016.

The day is a great way to support for people who have lost loved ones through overdose, and to mobilize communities to take action to prevent more overdose deaths - including providing naloxone. It is also a great opportunity to help end the stigma that surrounds overdose for many people in our communities.

Many organizations across WA State and the country are planning Overdose Awareness Day activities. To find local events visit: http://www.overdoseday.com/get-involved/eventsfeed/

If you want to sponsor activities in your community:

1. List your event at: http://www.overdoseday.com/get-involved/register-an-event/

2. Send an email to us here at the Center for Opioid Safety Education info@stopoverdose.org so we can help promote your event locally.

3. Download event materials at  www.overdoseday.com

4. Order International Overdose Awareness Day badges – (before August 11!) at http://www.overdoseday.com/buy-badge/

If you have lost a person to overdose you can post a tribute on the event website: www.overdoseday.com

You can also join in the conversation on Twitter @overdoseday or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay/

Thank you for your tireless work and commitment to this important issue. Please contact us if you have any questions – we’re here to support you!
