National Prescription Take Back Day This Saturday
National Take Back Day is Here
It’s time to rid your cabinets of unused, unwanted, and expired medications. Medications left in cabinets are susceptible to being misused, abused, or stolen by teens.
More Americans abuse prescription drugs than the number of those who use cocaine, hallucinogens, heroin, and inhalants combined (2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health). Prescription medication is the leading cause of accidental poisoning in the United States. Additionally, more Americans died from prescription drug overdose in 2010 than from motor vehicle accidents (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
Keep teens safe. Reduce youth access to unused, unwanted, and expired prescriptions by safely disposing of them at take back locations near you.
