The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is partnering with Washington State University to host a series of 4 FREE training events. Please see below for more information and to register.

1. Introduction to the PAX Good Behavior Game* – May 5, 2016
Featuring Dr. Dennis Embry, Founder and Senior Scientist of the PAXIS Institute.

Attend this overview training to:

  • Learn about the background and science behind the PAX Good Behavior Game
  • Learn about the PAX Good Behavior Game training model and support available to schools
  • Learn how to assess stage of readiness to implement the PAX Good Behavior Game

*Please note: This is an introductory training only. Participants will not be certified to implement PAX GBG or act as a PAX Partner at this session.

2. Substance Use Prevention Capacity Building Workshop – May 6, 2016

This capacity building workshop will improve skills related to:

  • Best practices for balancing evidence-based program fidelity with adaptation
  • Implementing high quality and meaningful program evaluation
  • Assessing, planning, and building sustainability capacity
  • Assessing and adopting polices to support community-based prevention efforts
  • Facilitating policy-related discussions and building effective partnerships

3. Strengthening Families Program (10-14) Facilitator Training – May 16th-18th

Become a certified facilitator of the Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth ages 10-14.

  • Get trained on all parent, youth, and family sessions
  • Learn about how to implement the Strengthening Families Program (10-14) in your community

4. Fortaleciendo Familias 10-14 Facilitator Training – May 25th-27th

Become a certified facilitator of Fortaleciendo Familias. Fortaleciendo Familias is the culturally adapted Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth ages 10-14.

  • Training will be delivered in Spanish
    Program implementation is for Spanish speaking families
  • Get trained on all parent, youth, and family sessions
  • Learn about how to implement Fortaleciendo Familias in your community
