***Note:   The FDA program was initiated in December 2010. This position is a permanent, full time project position tied to contractual funds expected to go through September 2017 with eligibility for continued funding through a Request for Proposal process.

Your opportunity at a glance
The Enforcement and Education Division is announcing an exciting opportunity for a FDA Program Coordinator (Program Specialist 4).  This is position has statewide oversight of the WSLCB's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Tobacco Inspection Program.

The FDA Program Coordinator provides oversight of all inspectors stationed in Western and Eastern Washington with direct supervision of a field supervisor (Program Specialist 3).  The position utilizes leadership skills to motivate field staff to achieve high performance consistently and to cultivate a learning environment.  Effectively, the position seeks to expand assigned staff's skill set and provides opportunities for cross-training, as well as works varied tasks associated with FDA contractual obligations.  This position performs oversight of subordinates' job performance, including expectations/evaluations, and utilizes effective performance management to recognize staff accomplishments that meet division goals and takes corrective action if necessary.
 
WSLCB is adapting Lean thinking and tools to its operations. Through practice, all employees develop scientific problem-solving skill and daily Lean practices, which they apply to their work to identify, measure, and solve problems that matter to customers.
