Call For Workshop Proposals - 2017 NAMI Washington State Conference

The 2017 NAMI Washington State Conference, will explore the theme of "The Challenge of Change: Promise and Progress in Mental Health." NAMI Washington is seeking workshop proposals which explore a deeper understanding of how we respond to change, and our successes in driving change in mental health, on both the personal and community levels. We seek proposals which touch upon change as a driving force for all populations including youth, older adults, veterans, LGBTQIA persons, communities of color and underserved communities and populations.

Workshop Specifics

Each workshop will be 90 minutes and may have up to a maximum of 3 presenters plus one moderator for a total of 4 people on a panel.  We invite you to propose workshops that are interactive, inspiring, and informative; workshops which will actively engage participants and send attendees away with lessons learned and even action they can take.  We encourage workshop proposals from all sectors of the Mental Health Community: PEERS, Family Members and Caregivers, Mental Health Providers, Researchers and Specialists from across the state and the nation. Proposals should attempt to fall into the following tracks as a guideline:

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. The NAMI organization operates at the national, state and local level.  NAMI Washington provides educational resources and events, statewide outreach, advocacy and affiliate organizational support, as well as no-cost trainings that allow NAMI affiliates to provide NAMI Signature classes, support groups and presentations in their local communities.
